Genuine question, is anyone taking their seat at the last home game? I've already looked and to get the plastic seat and plastic back off, it'll take 2mins tops. A few screws and nuts. I'm planning on taking mine, but I thought everyone was? Now I'm worried I'll be stopped.
100%

Bound to happen, particularly if they don’t find a way of doing it officially.

Reading this thread though 🄹, the thought of the footage that will be undoubtably be all over Sky and MOTD of the final curtain coming down over one of the greatest football grounds ever created, and 64% of the seats will have been lovingly removed, and a further 28% will have been ripped out by force, leaving shards of plastic attached to the fittings. Those pics and videos will be a very very sad sight. The sentiment is genuine, but it will look like it’s been ransacked.

Wouldn’t blame any individual for taking their seat, but the combined effect will create a horrific final visual for Goodison. Club clearly needs to do something official. Even opening the ground for a selected few days in summer for ST holders to access to do it then, for free. The dates should be announced very soon so people can ensure they are around.

They keep talking about tonight’s game being the ā€œfinal game under the lightsā€ but I’ve a feeling the last game at Goodison will be moved to a Monday evening

Not knocking anyone else for it but I've never really got the whole taking your seat thing. Maybe a bit different if it's one of the old style ones but I just can't imagine what use i'd ever have for a single blue plastic seat. I'm at the back of the Gwladys so to be fair I have absolutely no connection to my seat because I've barely sat in the thing.

Not quite the same is it though?

I get what you are saying, but the players will be out in the light and it'll only be the second half where it truly goes dark!

But not against. Surely a recently relegated Southampton don't bring 2900 on a Monday night.

I get the feeling one of the April games will be moved to an evening slot, take monday night, for example, for one more game under the lights, while it’s still going to be darkish at kick off

To be perfectly honest... i have no major problem with that.

It was criminal the way we won't finish the season at Goodison, but i know why we didn't request it to be last game.

It deserves the same exposure Highbury got. It's been a cornerstone of English Football Stadia history, for 125 years and rightly deserves every last bit of exposure.

It absolutely does given its history and standing in English football. Goodison Park isn’t just about Everton, at the end of the day. It’s a ground of many firsts in football. A ground where some of the greatest players of their generation have played, through generations. A ground that has hosted an FA Cup final and a World Cup semi final, Wembley is the only other ground in the country that can also lay claim to that. We’ll remember all that, but I feel outside of our blue circle, it’ll all be forgotten about.
