Anyone remember seeing a line of Catholic fathers in the main stand ?
used to be a regular appearance at our home games .
There was a father Fitzharris used to sprinkle Holy water at the
four corners corners of G P, when we hit a bad patch.
Don’t know how he would have coped now.
There was father Brian who was always at all the do’s I think he was everyon’s priest of chaplain and was a massive blue , I Also know the Christian brothers had a load of season tickets in the main stand.

Read Faith of our Families....a brilliant book. The priests climbing in to our promotion game in the 50s.

Absolutely - you worry for the likes of the Spellow and the Winslow, maybe the Crown (although they also get reds in there for home games)

Blue House is already moving to BMD

Dunno if the likes of The Brick and The Oak have enough footfall outside of match days to survive, but yeah, it will be a struggle for a lot of them I expect
I used to go to the The Elm but that closed up around Covid with flats built on the site, probably in anticipation of the new ground coming they saw the writing on the wall and cashed in early.

I still haven't got over where I first lived being demolished in the early 80s it's now part of a road and still feel and sense of sadness when I drive over where it once stood.

someone needs to give this thing a proper ceremonial burial when they dismantle the stand
