Initially thought Spain but swaying towards Germany a bit. One of those 2 for me. Also fancy Uruguay to get as far as the semis or even final. Roberto's Belgium to knock out Brazil in the quarters. England out to Colombia in the last 16

I'm quite lucky that most games are 8pm or 11pm kick off for me (will need to watch the 2am games the next morning).

Given that kick off is during the day when most will be at work in the uk, what is everyones plans to watch it?

I insist on taking the whole month off. I'm a World Cup ultra. Really can't wait, it's the only competition that has retained its original appeal for me, I look forward to it like a kid does Christmas :)

I'm with @Mikey_Fitzgerald ... Brazil pretty much pummeled CONMEBOL. They're looking to prove something. Imagine them and the Germans in the final, think Germany would win, but would be rooting for Brazil.

As much as I'd like to see Los Cafeteros knock Ingerland out, they limped in, drawing at Venezuela, drawing home against a Brazil team that had already won the top spot handily, losing a must-win at home against Paraguay in true Everton fashion, conceding 2 goals in the last 10 min or so... barely qualified thanks to a 1-1 draw in Peru that still has the whingy Chileans complaining. I wouldn't put my pocket change on them beating EFC at the moment.

Hope for the best, but figure they'll be through the group, out in the first round of the knock-out stage, making them an adequate replacement for my normal USMNTMTNMTNTNNTMMBTNNTMMNT.

You could very well be spot on mate...BUT beware of basing your thoughts on what happened in qualifying. From an England supporter ;)

If England is going to be included in this poll then a way should be found for all 32 teams to be included.

I was thinking the same. They have a decent draw as any of those 4 group teams could make it out, and as long as they could avoid Belgium in the knockout, who knows. Decent odds all things considered.

That's a terrible bet. Save your money. Look at the odds on them to get out the group.

Don't bet them to win it. The only reason the odds are that high is to fool the closer observers.

The average fool who doesn't know anything won't go near that. But the guy who knows a bit can convince himself to think what If, and then believe. It's a trap. Just my opinion

England will not go through the group, grinding out four turgid draws where winning goals are dismissed by the ref who's been bought off by Putin.

Germany will apply their artless, soulless ruthless efficiency and get to the final via a series of efficient 1-0 wins that will make everybody give up trying to watch exciting football.

In the final they'll beat Portugal 1-0 in a game where Ronaldo loses his head and is sent off after arguing with a giant moth over image rights. Then FIFA will have a word with the ref, who will then recall him to the field to manage the spectacle for maximum audience numbers who need to be told who supplies the tyres to the team coaches.

Just my guess.

God I hate modern football.

When's the last time you watched Germany?
