Aspects of The Journey are really stupid. I'm playing as Everton and as I chose to be a striker it means that I have Lukaku and Harry Kane on the bench with no ability to do anything about it. They never even get brought off the bench as the only sub the manager ever makes is to bring on Cleverley. Also for some reason the formation the game has picked is 5-2-3 which makes no sense either.

I just can't get into The Journey really but will probably complete it eventually.

I buy FIFA to play seasons anyway. Enjoying it so far, the set piece/penalty system feels unnecessary but I guess you get used to it.
