Fetfatzidis to Everton

Just found this interview with Kenwright on the Official Site; I found a very interesting quote at the foot of the article, and it went as follows:

Gordon Clegg said:
“David said in the press just how important Steven Pienaar is,â€￾ he added. “And that was not an easy negotiation. Tottenham were very decent to deal with but it was not easy and took a long, long time to sort that one out.

“Naismith happened relatively quickly and then last week was all Olympiakos.

“We have brought in three important players.

“But I think, and I am a fan first, it was Steven. I wanted Steven and so did David Moyes and we thought as one on that.â€￾

That surely suggests we had some business in the works beyond Mirallas with Olympiacos? Maybe it was a deal to send Vellios home; or maybe as some have said...this Fetfatzidis may have been on the way. Maybe the deal is still going. Interesting comments I thought, regardless.

Anyone else agree or do we all think I just imagined it?

He is referring to Mirallas not Fetfat

I KNOW THAT

I thought that was fairly obvious from what I was saying. Maybe something has been lost in translation for you (assuming you are indeed Greek) but he spesifically said "it's been Olympiacos all week" not "it's been Mirallas all week".

Or the fact that he was talking abou dealing with Spurs and how long that took, how long it took to negotiate with Olypiakos and how long it took to get Naismith who was a free agent. (or was considered to be by Everton and the rest of the footballing universe apart from Rangers and the SFA)

lol calm down lad, we all know what he meant, and it wasn't that we're going to rob the Greeks of all their good players.

I think we're interested, it just depends on if Olympiacos want to sell him. 4 million isn't a very fair price for someone with his potential but he is a risk because he's not physically ready for the PL.

Also wtf kind of translation is "Fatwa", I know for a fact that there's no W in Greek.

dont know why but id love to sign this guy up think he could be something special.he could make up for losing niang.im sure going get roasted on this for saying that but he does look a player !!

That's what I thought.

But then my scouting consists of watching youtube highlights that would make Salif Diao look like Zidane in his pomp.
