Are you an incel Eddie?

There is a chunk of incel energy here, but could be on of the other major branches of the manosphere. "Men going their own way" are often GenX divorcees who have decided feminism was the cause of their marriage breaking down and declaring online they'll have nothing more to do with women by choice rather than the typical incel wailing that they want relationships but can't.

Or the typical Tate-followers, who are all over dating but believe that exploiting any women in their lives is fair game.

And I was reading only recently about 'Sigma males', a made up characteristic archetype for lonely men to feel superior to others, it basically covers those people with Joker avatars etc.

The men involved in these groups are generally pretty awful, and the obvious grifters taking advantage of them are reprehensible, but it's all symptomatic of a fairly widespread mental health crisis affecting men. Men who feel they've "lost their place" in society and rather than working on realigning themselves into the new reality would instead prefer to whine about it within online in-groups and sometimes end up advocating for the removal of womens rights, by violent overthrow if necessary.

American postwar prosperity is best explained by Europe and Japan being in ruins, and the Marshall Plan. America's decline in manufacturing prominence after 1975 is best explained by the fact that Europe and Japan by then were making stuff at lower cost with newer production facilities, and by superior Japanese logistics.

This one isn't complicated.

From my understanding, the mid-70s in the US also saw the end of the super-rich being taxed massively as part of the social contract, which kickstarted the 'wealth pump' and started to increase inequality, which was then turbocharged in the 80s 'Greed is Good' era and not subsequently dealt with.

So not only was America prosperous for the reasons you outlined, but that wealth was being fairly distributed to workers, families etc (or as fairly as is probably possible).
