Female commentators

I doubt it would be possible for q female commentator to annoy me more than Tyldsley or Tyler, i couldn't care less if it is a female commentator.

The only time i have a preference is for golf because i find the old men's voices relaxing to sleep to.

I'm saying nothing here other than I wish there was a channel where you just get pitchside noise. No commentators male, female not even those who identify as a frying pan. Just the togger with nobody to ruin it chatting bubbles or screaming their 'notice me' emotional responses at me. No rasping voices, no hideous loud accents - just the game.
This x 100. The way Amazon did it over Christmas - bliss!!

Just watching the Wolves game and she's already p'd me off enough to make me switch off! I don't believe I'm sexist but surely there are better qualified co-commentators out there???

For anyone who watched it she said said "surely he should have tried to pull it back there?"

It was blatantly obvious he tried to do just that!!

Anyway - Rangers game it is.
Is she fit, it matters

I think a lot of women could be very good with more experience, but like they do with men, they shove inexperienced nitwits to commentate games. They seem to pick the absolute worst of the worst and it makes them look very bad as a whole. Not sure I blame the women as much as I blame the people in charge of broadcasting that pick nothing but morons.

Men also get by simply by having distinguished voices while women don’t really get that luxury. My biggest criticism of women in broadcast are that their voices are often grating. People would rather listen to a smooth bassy lullaby of a voice than a woman with an obnoxious tone.

*reminds self to always deepen voice when modding
Haha I don’t know how to say it without being sexist. It’s one of those things that could probably be worded better but it’s the first thing that stands out to me in a lot of broadcasting. I do think some voices are just made for broadcast and most women that have voices built for broadcast just don’t go into broadcast like men do.

Seems like there are a lot of women in broadcasting...news and whatnot. Yet not sure I recall complaints about their voices.

Since all that use “voice” as a complaint aren’t sexist, I’d guess it’s the novelty of it seeing as it is still very rare outside of women’s sports. Also probably a good bit of unconscious bias.

It’s funny because I’ve always heard more complaints about women in sports broadcasting and women in comedy particularly from women and not from men. And I was speaking particularly about sports broadcasting and not news where they actually hire competent broadcasting talent. Most women anchors are actually on point.

People fear change, it takes time to become accepted culture sadly.
But the next generation will have never known anything different, just like when it women started reading the news on telly.

Moira Stewart has the perfect broadcasting voice in my opinion for the roles she does.

I feel like they pick the most bubbly idiots for women’s sports broadcasting just like they pick the explayer idiot morons from the men’s pool for broadcasting. I don’t think most of them are good in general

I really struggle to find any football commentators i dont actively dislike listening to. Barry Davies was good.
The best pundits are usually the foreign guys at the tournaments. Desailly is very good, Leonardo excellent and a couple of others.

Alex Scott seems to do research for the games and has some reasonable opinions, you can't always agree and what would be the fun in that anyway? Compared to Nicholas, Lawrenson and Crooks etc she is an oasis in a desert of dunces.
