They done well to secure it but that is a lot of money for a club that is skint.
I suppose I should be happy that if he's arsed for the next season and a half then we should get more for him than we paid.
Thats the spirit sunshine.
The minute you walked in the joint, I could tell you were a man of distinction.
Bit of positive news and you react like someone stepped on your pet mongoose
I'm happy mate, genuinely happy he's signed. I'm happier that you've logged on and are conversing with me like.
Always grooming me aren't you...
That's it in a nutshell. There'll be no Pienaar run-down of the clock and Everton will get a reasobnable amount for him when money bags clubs are ready to take him. We wait and see what it means beyond that. It could mean that other players like Rodwell and Barkley see this and decide that they'll stay too; it could equally mean that one of them will go if we cant get decent money for players like Heitinga and Bilyaletdinov in the next couple of windows.
30 year old Arteta was a worry to lose, but losing 23 year old Fellaini would have been a completely different kettle of spuds. Keeping the younger players and allowing the older ones to move on is a sad state of affairs in football because we love the players that have stayed and fought it out for and with us against all odds, but football is no fairytale world.
