Anyone agree that it's about time that he gets a run in centre midfield? He can't do any worse then what we currently have at the moment and i've been impressed with him the past few weeks. I think his off the ball attributes have improved gradually since last season, not up to a fantastic standard but he seems to of improved his brain on the pitch. I'd like to see him and Heitinga have ago in there on Sunday although i'd be abit concerned over their mobility in there. It will then free up Tim Cahill to support the striker (we were a different team once he moved up with the King).

Anyone agree?

Nah lad, it would be:

Howard

Hibbert Yobo Distin Baines

Bilyaletdinov Fellaini Heitinga Pienaar

Cahill

Saha.

I'd love to play Pienaar inside but our lack of options means he'd have to go outwide. Pienaar moving inside could change our season imo but we lack a wideman (Gosling is dog rough).

He's played there a few times this season, and interchanged with Cahill during games. Whilst he hasn't been awful the balance still doesn't look right.

Cahill and Fellaini, even when they play centre midfield, seem to play very high up the pitch and leave the defensive midfielder all alone. I'm not sure if this is just there natural game or Moyes is instructing them to do this. I hope it's not Moyes, because you do need two midfielders who are looking for possession, it's a must.

Interesting to see Pienaar in the middle during the second half yesterday, wouldn't surprise me if Moyes tries him there during spells of the game against Liverpool, especially with Bilyaletdinov back.

I said that lad. What about Neill like?

Nearly there with you Chico M8, have to say has Timmy's time with us come to a close??

Nah, just think he either needs to be played in his position or dropped for a few games mate. He's still got good things left in him yet.

Exactly.

It would be like Pienarr playing centre defense and being awful then people wanting rid because of it.

Play Cahill in his best position, the position that he has been superb for us over the years when he isn't being relied upon to be soemthing he is not and he will return to the Cahill of old.

God knows when that will be with things the way we are but until it happens we will not see anywhere near the best from him.

Agree with most of that Bilya. Like others I'd rather see Fellaini play in his natural position like he did for Liege when he was so effective against the $hite.

Cahill as an impact sub especially if Fellaini isn't performing. Like for like is how they have to be treated. Moyes said as much way back before injuries hobbled most of our options in midfield.

No way he is still one of the few that gets stuck in and is one of our most likely scorers after Saha. Yakubu needs to be eased in slower, and Rodwell needs a rest.

Howard

Neill - Yobo - Distin - Baines

Piennar - Fellaini - Heitinga - Bilyaletdinov

Cahill

Saha

Looks good to me. I think Fellaini's hour is approaching, in fact it's right now, because our central midfield needs a leader and he at least towers over the opponents! But according to this football article on our form, he reckons we can no longer blame injuries but need to get on with it. Which to be fair, is exactly what we've been trying! But in terms of blaming injuries, at least he isn't using them personally as an excuse anymore!

Are you insane!

I agree with Pienaar playing inside, more balance for me but to have Gosling outwide isn't the best option at the moment.
