Isent Yann M'Vila going to Arsenal for around 15m

When has he shown he's world class ? He's 21 years old and he's been part of a weak French team and plays for Rennes. Hardly proven himself at this point. The last figure i saw was £17m, we spent £15m on Fellaini when he was 20 i believe.

Like i said, world class defensive midfielders don't sell for £15m. Mascherano went for £22m ffs.

How much do you think hes worth?

Fellaini ain't a world class defensive midfielder.

He's a very good player but he's still got a lot to earn if his long term future is going to be there IMO.

He's playing as an attacking Midfielder because he's a right handful up there but also due to the fact that he's not the finished article in the holding position. We are no weaker defensively when Neville plays there IMO, Neville actually tracks runners and holds his position better so we may as well let Felaini loose further up the pitch where he plays regurley for Belgium and is better than any of the other options we have alongside Jelavic.

No he doesn't. His legs have gone and he barely steps past the half way line.

As a DM you dont just tackle and defend, you've got to be able to use the ball, be calm when wave of attacks rather that just tonking it. Rodwell, for all his critics, can do that well but his positional sense is still developing...Gibson is about the same but can go missing and isn't a great defensive shield...the only one we have naturally is Fellaini. He's a massive reason why we allowed the least amount of shots against us all season.

The box to box idea is best to describe him, but his defensive duties tend to come first. In an attacking role is very inconsistent. He's had some shockers up front, and some good games. But he's not going to create boat loads of chances - something a support striker/AM needs to do - or be slotting in the box. Hes basically used as a 6ft Cahill to me - be a nuisance, hassle defenders, get on crosses, which is a waste of his full talent and is nowhere near the attacking threat cahill is/was

The Belgium comparison is also skewed because he's got talent all around him like hazard, dembele to enhance his attacking game...but the team as a whole under perform. Additionally it was only until he transferred to us and was played up front because he was a liability as a dm that he ended up playing further forward for Belgium...and he openly said his best position is a dm
