Fellaini in the Echo explaining the Semi Final defeat

I think its obvious his words have been lost in translation and thats not what he actually meant.

What he actually meant was :

Me and a couple of the other lads were talking about how we needed to come out in the second half and take the game to liverpool cause they were there for the taking but unfortunatly the ginger adolf made us try and defend the lead for 45 mins and then i forgot how to jump

"... in the first half we played well, but we had no energy in the second and no fight to win.â€￾

Anyone else astounded by that?

'No energy'? Why? They are all experienced players with finals and international games behind them, so it couldn't be nervous energy depleting them. Is he saying they were worked too hard before the game?

'No fight to win'? WTF does that mean? They just shit it and couldn't get up for a match like that? Just laying down for Liverpool was the option taken?

What an admission. Ill-prepared and no stomach for the fight.

Shocking.

No.

And KOFF davek.

You're not astounded an Everton player said they were tired after 45 minutes of football (something mentioned by other players too) and then lay down without a fight for Liverpool to win the Semi Final?

That's very understanding of you.

They were tired?

Moyes should of rested them or something, maybe against liverpool.

At least he admits what the problem was. I'd hate for one of our players to have said something like:

"... in the first half we played well, and we tried to continue this in the 2nd half, but they were just better than us in the end.â€￾

Now a comment like this would make me stew...but what Fellaini said is commendable. The next step after recognising mistakes is then not to repeat them (cue Fellaini leaving for a club with a winning mentality).

No Everton manager would do a thing like that...it'd just be wrong. Imagine the outcry if we got hammered 3-0 or something like that.

No, it wouldn't happen.

Well yeah, it's probably more honest than the manager addressing the media throng, absolving himself of all responsibility and blaming the whole mess on Distin and Coleman.

Nice goal but hardly bursting the ole onion bag. It seems like when he tries to hit it hard, the ball slews off the side of his boot. Must have very small feet.

Haha your excuses have left me entertained at least
