Well Barcelona didnt, Everton didnt, Spain didnt, that other lot in Spain (Valencia?) didnt.

Who do you suggest?

Barcelona have world class players in pretty much every position. Bad comparison as they don't need to develop players unless they're top drawer wonderkids as they just go out and buy the worlds best players, we can't do that.

Also, if they were that convinced he wasn't good enough why did they put a buyback clause in his contract? They knew he was talented just weren't 100% if he was talented enough for one of the top 2 teams in world football.

You seriously prefer Lennon or Clev or Bolasie in front of him?

He got more assists last season than all three of them will get this season put together. He blows hot and cold but when he's playing well he gets assists easily because of his natural talent and passing\crossing ability. When players like Clev go through good spells they're lucky if they get 1 assist a season.

I don't get why so many people on here diss Del, he's better than any other option we have on the wing and more productive so unless we get some really good signings this window I think we're crazy to move him on.

As for a coach to help Del, get an ex creative, flair player to come in and coach him. There's loads of ex players that would be able to help him improve his game if we offered them the money. Even Belgium got Henry so it can't be that hard to find someone who would be happy to.

I don't think his issue is attitude or inconsistency, albeit he suffers from both. The big issue is that he has absolutely no stamina at all. I can't recall a game where he's put a shift in for more than 20-25 minutes, and by 'shift' I don't mean tracking back etc. He's a natural winger with undoubted technical skill, but after a single sprint down the line he's puffing like an asmathic on a Cohiba. It's strange....early twenties professional sportsman yet his lungs are made of tissue paper. On top of that he's a grade 'A' wuss....he pulls out of headers rather than mess his mop up.

Ok just a suggestion no need to be nasty about it - two threads on one player really?
You report it if you want to don't tell me what to do ok!

Blimey, in what way was that being nasty ? It was a serious suggestion and there's been enough threads over the years from Danny and the mods asking people to do what I suggested.

Trust me, if I'd thought it was just a duplicate thread I would have reported it, but I reckon it's a fair question to ask, so I didn't.

Kindly untwist your knickers !

Just think he has shown he hasnt got whatever it is that elevates a player with a superb technical list of attributes, to one who is an asset to a successful football team.

I can accept inconsistency, thats a given with wingers. But whether its physicality, or braveness, or football common sense, something is stopping him turning his undoubted talent into a talented footballer that a side needs.

He's started twice this season though ?

Yeah, I get your point just the thing that worries me is that Ronaldo was inconsistent when he first came to England but he developed in to the player he is today because he was given time to improve. It's harder to tell with Del wether he will go on to become a special player or drift in to relative obscurity but when our team isn't that great I think it's worth keeping him around in case he does suddenly take off. All about opinions but I think he just needs more games and good mentoring.

His ability is amazing he just needs to learn how to use it more effectively. I just hope we don't seem him end up becoming a great player for another team who did give him more of a chance.
