Rogan's weakness is his strength. As others have said, he might not be the most challenging interviewer, but he lets the guests explain their views without being overly judgmental. His empathy (or feigned empathy) is what works in his favor more than anything.
I was 100 percent in the "he's a meathead bro" category, but some of his podcasts are a good listen.

Rogan podcasts are all-brow ( low-brow, high-brow, in-between)...he's a bit of a social chameleon and while he often only has surface-knowledge (google that for me, Jamie) he's genuinely open-minded which is why he's able to procure long deep podcasts with the likes of Roger Penrose, Elon Musk, Louis Theroux, Tyson Fury etc, along with his regular bros which are often good for the toon highlights.
He gets a pass (and the odd listen) from this fellow all-brow.
