But that's exactly my point, it's a nothing statement because they're not in a position to make a statement. It's only happened because he's getting lambasted by pundits, journalists and fans for his 'dithering' when we really have no idea what has been going on.
If he came out and said "we're currently in talks with someone" and then we hadn't appointed a manager by next Monday - it would generate a whole new news cycle on the matter, "Moshiri's talks fall through, AGAIN!", "Is Moshiri the right man for Everton?", "Everton Football Club an embarrassment" etc. etc. etc.
It is what it is, we need to accept that finding the right manager at the moment is proving exceptionally difficult and judging Moshiri on how he words comments to the media on something that he really can't comment on until it's signed, sealed and delivered is a bit ridiculous IMO.
