It seems that the following hurdles/questions are what are preventing Usmanov moving.

1) IF he wanted to buy Everton why not in January?
2) He now has to sell his shares. Kroenke will not want to buy them and free him to build another club.
3) Nobody else will want to come in and play second fiddle to Kroenke.

The first point can be answered by the desire to acquire the club quickly. It seems like Kenwright was quite far along with negotiations with the Americans. If we accept premise points 2/3 it may have been the only way for Usmanov to acquire Everton in the short term.

As for points 2 & 3 there are a lot of assumptions there. Firstly, if Kroenke is so worried about what Usmanov may do it seems odd he wouldn't try and involve him in an way. I am not 100% convinced Kroenke wouldn't look to buy up shares if he was given a chance.

Alternatively if he won't there is point 3. While some people would want to be active participants and for that level of Shareholding it would be reasonable to expect board representation not everybody works that way. Being a silent partner may well be an attractive option. All premier league clubs will grow in value. Arsenal with their heritage and stability represent a very unique opportunity, own the stadium outright and the land outside of it and have a fantastic stadium. I doubt there will be a shortage of takers on the offer as in all likelihood the value of the club will increase and at present they remain very profitable.

None of this means Usmanov is coming but there are counter points to every reason presented why he hasn't thus far. I have always sensed there is more going on than meets the eye to this one. I'm very happy with Moshiri. In the short time he's been here you can see we have made remarkable progress. We've probably made more progress in the 3 months he's been here than the 15 years beforehand in many ways.

However with Usmanov's backing we go to another level again. It is frightening how far the club would go with both of their involvement.

You saying Usmanov couldnt find buyer to his shares ?

Not really, just musing. Have nowhere near the knowledge Esk has on this, but the idea of selling them in one go doesnt seem that realistic apparently, and not knowing how many he has, nor the price, (but they are dead expensive), no idea how long it would take to shift them in small chunks.

Like Moat says, could be an hour on the stock exchange.

His shares are worth around 300 million.

He has 18,695 shares and each share is worth £16,250.

Not sure if that's good or bad for us like.

For someone with a wealth of around 1.5b and invest 500m into a toy is living in a world of very thin margin of error.

I do wonder if his initial investment does not bring enough results. There's only one chance of success or it'll be back to kenwright under a different name.

I tend to think he's too smart to make such a gamble and there must be some fallback in a form of future investment lurking around - usanov.

Have you considered that he isnt investing 500m?
