Also telling what he didn't say mate, talksport clearly briefed not to ask him if we had funds and how much in the transfer window and plans & progress on recruitment.

I don't like the non-sound of that.
Even if he said we have substantial funds to invest in the squad would we believe him? I would say no, remember 'Judge us at the end of the window', how did that turn out.

He essentially said that because Bill and Denise are from Liverpool and are local is super important because they really care about the project.

He's valuing "they know the city" vs expertise of ever completing a stadium build OR building a successful footballing model.

He emphasised what a mammoth task it is to complete a stadium build - which is fair enough... However, all the more reason to have a board that have experience / expertise vs just being scousers and overlooking almost thirty years of no success.

It sounds to me like he basically admitted what a big distraction this stadium build is (especially when you're a 77 year old man ((Bill)) and have never built a stadium before, never-mind a successful transfer strategy simultaneously).

Bill couldn't raise 30 mill for the Kings Dock

Im playing devils advocate, and adding that new gorund in the mix, its a massive massive part of our future.....and we need to not cut our nose of spite our face.

Thats all im saying.

Its very early after his interview, so people are very angry.

All im saying is, we need to tread a little carefull while that stadius is sat half built, thats it.
Don't agree i'm afraid. The new ground just masks the smell, it does not get rid of it!

He should have realized his mistake and got rid of the board as soon as he realized they were unfit for purpose. Surely we would have been in a healthier position both on and off the pitch with competent people at the helm. But no, here were are 7 years later, the same morons at the top are making the same mistakes year in and year out and we sink further and further into the abyss. This is his fault alone.

He's a billionaire who has somehow made us even worse on and off the pitch since he joined. Mike Ashley levels. Hiding behind a new stadium does not change that.

I see he mentioned that hes going to add to the board.
Can't wait to see who he has in mind, his track record is pretty stellar:

  • Sascha Ryastansev
  • Marcel Brands
  • Sarvar Izmailov
It's actually a relief in some ways that his own people are just as disastrous as the current incumbents. At least we'll never have to question how different our current fortunes would have been had he given Kenwright and his pack the boot on day one.

We'd be just as screwed.
