Jonnie Rich meets Alisher Usmanov and decides to buy his block of shares.

However being an experienced investor he phones Stan Kroenke first to to see how the land lies

Conversation 1:

JR: Hi Stan how are you? Just thought I'd check you are ok with me buying Alisher's shares, taking a board position and getting this show moving?

Stan: Sure Jonnie welcome aboard, I've been looking for an active partner for years, your imput will be invaluable.

We needn't worry about Alisher neither he can't compete with us......

Stan: It's not as easy as that Jonnie, we're a settled and successful club, have been for years.

To be honest there's no vacancy on the board and the club is run how I like it to be run.

By the way, have you thought this through? Alisher will be off like a shot to Everton and we'll have another Chelsea or City on our hands.

Click........ line goes dead

Which is the more likely?
Usmanov could sell tomorrow to anyone if he were prepared to price his shares low enough.

If he really wants to sell, he'll sell. If the rumours of Christmas are true, he has six months to find a buyer at an acceptable price.

Dunno. But in the scheme of things, I guess the value of them is like having an out of date Smiths voucher from your Nan in your bedroom.

Useless, but you still keep it.
It's why I'm slightly confused. He has no say or power regarding running the club and what financial return he gets for owning shares must be small compared to all his other businesses. Also as you said he's got a Smiths voucher no one else would want apparently.

Why did Usmanov bail Moshiri out of the Arsenal misery? Thats interesting question too....just because theyre good pals?x

Beat me to the same question. Why would Usmanov buy out Moshiri, allowing him to fulfil his initial plans at Everton, if by doing he increases a holding at Arsenal that is of no operational use to him other than being a store of considerable value?

I am just pleased someone else remembers Smiths vouchers!

But it is weird. Like Finners said, why did he buy Moshiri out if it wouldnt make a blind bit of difference? The answer is probably meat and drink to blokes like Esk, but lost on me.

Little things mate, such as the bridging loans we have been getting every Summer, bar this 1, that saves us a few £000000s with regards interest payments, then theres other things like Other Operating Costs, im pretty sure we will see that figure reduce, then its about growing the commercial side, the current "owner" has over the years signed steady income deals, cos we were hand to mouth and couldnt risk any slight decreases, all that will change, we will grow the business off the pitch to help the football on the pitch.

New broom, new ideas, new mindset.

I have no doubt that issues such as low commercial income will be addressed but I struggle to see how a massive spending spree will be able to be supported in year one or indeed two with the inevitable pressure on wages even if other heads of expenditure are reduced
