The Qatari authorities are currently implicated in quite serious corruption and bribery allegations with members of the European Parliament.
Hard to say how this type of negative publicity would impact current or potential future football investment on their part.
Perhaps this is the very essence of sports washing but it's moving into the realms of risk on a par with Russian money.
