The Qatari authorities are currently implicated in quite serious corruption and bribery allegations with members of the European Parliament.

Hard to say how this type of negative publicity would impact current or potential future football investment on their part.

Perhaps this is the very essence of sports washing but it's moving into the realms of risk on a par with Russian money.

Then again Newcastles owners make the Qataris seem tame by comparison. Eventually though a time will come when the fit and proper persons test is much more onerous and applied more stringently than it currently is.

Perhaps we might get interest from so-called private Qatari business interests or a group of investors. I very much doubt it would be through the official state investment arm, the Qatari Investment Authority QIA.

You never know, QSI the sports investment arm of QIA bought 22% of FC Braga in Oct this year to add to PSG and KAS Eupen, so they aren’t adverse to continuing to spend in European football operations. Bigger question would be if we fit their model of competitive teams in the leagues they enter, which of course were are not!

Who's Sarvar Ismailov hiding?

What's Wengers problem? Has Sarvar just dropped his guts?
He's just realised he's spent the last 5 years selling his soul to the most corrupt organisation on earth and spouting nonsense on their behalf.
...yeah but just like in his Arsenal days, what ever the infringement was - he some how just managed not to see it.

Edit; smell it maybe, but not see it
