I’d suggest we be careful what we wish for. I’ve recently been dealing with a company that George Soros and Bill Gates took over in 2021, last week it was sold back to its original owners for £1 as long as the old company take on its debt.

The group bought it, tried to invest heavily in it, racked up a lot of debt and messed it right up, made a significant amount of people redundant recently and now sold it back last week and the rebuild process starts again.

Yeah, terrible businessmen those two lol

I’m not saying they’re terrible businessmen, but when a group wish to play the numbers game they deal with the business and it’s people emotionless at some stage, I don’t wish for that business to be us and we end up like Leeds and spend 2 decades effectively dead.

Let’s see what happens, hopefully we find a buyer who’s willing to integrate with the values of our club.

A bit more insight can be found in this article:

Everton would become a publicly listed company should this go ahead.

At present, this SPAC is an empty shell company that has 253 million dollars to spend after it was listed on the NASDAQ stock exchange with an IPO in November of last year.

It does not have 3 billion pound at its disposal, and it would need to implement another form of fundraising if it wanted to increase its capital beyond 253 million dollars. How it would do this, I’m not sure?

Additional investment following the acquisition of the ‘target company’ (Everton) seems highly unlikely. Instead, Everton would be expected to live off its own revenue, which is exactly what we had to do under Kenwright for so many years.

I don’t see how a development like this would assist us in competing with the likes of Wolves or Villa, let alone City and Newcastle.

Fortunately, I don’t think anything is imminent because 250 million won’t even get you half of Everton Football Club in this day and age.

I would second this, they may be aggressive if they think an investment could lead to bigger returns but if that doesn't pan out they tend to look to offload asap. Not exactly the custodians you would want for a football club, let's see what the Chelsea owner does if they don't get any closer back to the top after 2/3 years.

It won't, but if they are willing to take a 20-40% share, that 250 million might be enough considering the funding gap for the stadium.

Will Everton be worth a lot more after we move into a new stadium? Should be, so it might be a good bet if you are looking to make money. I don't think Moshiri is going to sell completely, but he may look to dilute his holdings for now. If the Russia situation goes away then Usmanov can return to buy out anyone who invests now. If not then least Moshiri hasn't had to fund the whole stadium build and he can make a larger profit on his remaining shares once we are in our new stadium and hopefully improved on the pitch.

Not really bothered about the money aspect. Look what good it’s done since Farhad took us over!
Our fans going overboard about our cash flow etc
Be prudent and wheel and deal is the way to go.
Not sure about American asset strippers anyway
Be so Everton that we have had a very generous owner getting every decision wrong… for the first time in a decade we are looking like we have a plan and we decide to sell to some asset stripping Americans
