Fantasy stadium

What gets me is that the houses around Goodison will be amongst the cheapest in the country. Surely we could buy enough on one side of hte ground for the cost of a no mark player.

People will argue it may take years, well this moving ground business has lasted 15 years so far.

It has never been the cost, it has always been the issue of buying the houses. There are also schools in the way, councils would get a lot of protests if those had to be knocked down.

It would be relatively cheap to redesign the Main Stand roofing to permit getting rid of the 3 pillars holding it up. That would massively improve the looks of that stand and free up many hundreds of currently obstructed views. A straightforward extension of the Park End including private boxes would also be reasonably affordable. I suspect though that doing anything with the Bullens would be difficult and expensive. But in any event I'd agree with leaving the Bullens and Gwladys St unchanged, to retain the tradition and history of the ground.

Total cost? £25m? New capacity 45,000? Affordable? Well if Rotherham (I think it was) this season could afford to build themselves a completely new stadium for £20m then surely the answer must be yes.

Their stadium is only 12,000 seats though, the price tends to increase massively the more seats you want.

If it's an ongoing project then you see where the obstacles are and try and overcome them. People buy houses, so why can't Everton? If you end up failing to get the lot, sell them. Everton could blow £xm on a bad player and nothing is said so why not on land around the ground?

Perhaps that would make a good fan trust, buy up the houses in Gwladys Street. Rent them out as a return on peoples investment. Then sell/give them to Everton.

I'm certainly no finance expert mind, but if you don't try, you don't get.

A bigger version of Red Bull Arena would suit us I think.

I love my little fantasies when it come's to Everton, and with the news last night on Talk Sport about expecting Everton to have a new stadium in 5-10 years, it kinda got my hopes up ffs.
So, was wondering what stadiums everyone would like it to be similar to or modelled on?

Mine would have to be a smaller version of Dortmund's Signal Iguna Park.
Fantastic stadium and it's not a boring "bowl" either.

The new Juventus stadium.

It irks me why we can't at least add another tier onto the Park End. It was designed for this and surely would be both easy and relatively cheap to do. It would add 4/5k onto Goodison's capacity, plus corporate boxes. There is literally no logical reason why this hasn't been done other than the shortsightedness of the board

And what's going on with that new superstore Sodexo were meant to be building for us?

Surely it would be easier to upgrade goodison in stages rather than find land then have council problems and money issue to build a new stadium . First add a tier to the park end with boxes then if generates more income and better attendaces then slowly upgrade the other stands

There is no room.

I don't really care what kind of stadium it is really, as long as it doesn't have a roof that casts annoying shadows on the pitch. Do architects not figure out beforehand the position of the sun and how intrusive the shadows will be ?

Do you guys think we could buy the houses and land and schools around the stadium build a new school and houses on Stanley park were the ****e were moving to and not add a tier to the park end but build it backwards so it dosent need posts and would look like the Dortmund kop , then knock the bullens down and build it further back in the space which the school has left with being moved to stanley park

The two issues are forcing people to leave their homes/getting permission to knock down a school, and finding the money.

Perhaps, but who is going to build that school ? Will it be nearby so that kids who live locally can still walk to school ? etc.

The council could pay for it and move it to Stanley park the council are helping lfc so why not help a school improve
