Fans View: The Oviedo Conundrum

When he got a rare chance under Moyes (v Norwich 2012/13) he was the best player on the pitch.

I'm not surprised everyone else is impressed this year.

Indeed, sir. I said the very same thing about him before Oviedo had played a minute for us this year. I was defending him on here when so many people were slating him. *vaults self*

You know what, I think you don't even know what you're talking about. As I sit here trying to think back to some Oviedo performances in the league for us, the game against Norwich last year came to mind. I thought I remembered him being quite impressive in that match, so I did a quick google search and what did I find? Have a look.. see for yourself...

Europe? No mate

it negative that. IMO we'll finish better than 7th. with a couple of shrewd moves this January, lads coming back from injuries and continuation of what we've done in the early part of the season no reason why we shouldn't be thinking of Champions League.

As for Oviedo I think he did brilliantly when given his chance and was very unlucky to lose his place to Baines who until recent matches has not been anything like near his best. As a minimum I'd play Oviedo in the FA Cup. Him and Baines in the same team - no ! Baines is far more effective coming from deep as I believe Oviedo is. One of the two will leave this summer particularly when we have a continually impressing Garbutt available too.

Thanks for that.... can't believe I'd managed to repress that Naismith 'cross' to Jelavic.

But in all honesty I love that Costa Rican to bits.
Would be happy to see him play either at left back or left mid, as long as he's not displacing Bainesy, which is obviously the problem.

There's no denying his passion and that's what I love about him, and his mrs of course...
