Why didn't our tv people at the ground sneak a shot of Kenwright's head onto the match screen during the applause as Drenthe walked off ?

That was the money shot and they missed it.

He was our best player. He goes into every tackle hard, the way he plays. The first yellow he won the ball from where i was, the second one he was trying to pull out but was already too dedicated. Think they were both soft yellows

Spot on. Unlucky to see red IMO, having seen the highlights, though maybe he should have been at bit more careful after the first yellow. But a good performance and will be missed on Saturday.

I agree the first one definitely didn't look like a foul. couldn't really see if there was contact on the second.

It wasnt the sending off that was getting applauded but the fact that he was showing the 'permanent' members of the team what it means to be Everton all heart, i love him for that!

There are stupid ways to get yourself sent off and more noble ways.

Drenthe was sent off in pursuit of the cause. He didn't kick anybody, there wasn't any discent, he wasn't timewasting.
The fans at the game made the call he was worthy of applause.

No i am sorry but Mucha's slippery feckin hands cost us the game.

Drenthe was fantastic last night. He was involved in everything.

Chelsea struggled with ten men and we should have taken more of an advantage but to say Drenthe cost us the game smacks of someone who does not know much about football or someone who didn't watch the full thing picked it up on match of the day and made his assesment of that.

I think you'll find that what cost us the game was our failure to capitalise on the fact we were playing against a 10 man team made up of Chelsea squad players. Once Drenthe went off it was 10 v 10 and the ten players left in the Royal Blue decided to just lay down and die.
