Moyes needs to be careful here. Look what happened to Junior when we played Leeds. The whole thing was a disaster and it will have made
Moyes even more cautious than he already is.
The youngsters are playing week in week out in what is a tough u21/reserve league that allows 4 over age players (including the goalkeeper) to help bridge the gap between the Academy and the first team.
The likes of Matthew Kennedy has been doing well in the u21s and I have no doubt has earned his place on the bench (while we have these injuries), but he as well as Junior and perhaps Barkley to a lesser extent will be concentrating on their development under Stubbs and Weir. If they get called up and get a chance with the senior squad then of course they need to grasp it.
Having said that, it is very very nice to see youngsters make the grade. I can’t get enough of Rooney's goal against Arsenal.
