"Leeds United wishes to place on record our appreciation for the honourable manner in which Aston Villa have conducted their interest in the player.

Think this is a side swipe at Man City given Moyes/Neville's recent quotes about their pursuit of Lescott? Or a swipe at clubs like Spurs (Naughton deal)

Or a swipe and a big middle finger to us over our signing of Garbutt, sounds like we were in for him. IMO

There were some grousings about Garbutt from LUFC about demanding compensation but isn't that standard for academy type players. Hadn't heard any MCFC links to Delph except in the last couple of days. We had some links but was there anything more than silly banter - don't think we lodged a bid did we?

only joking i think delph definitely has potential, but that is too big of a risk for us to take on that kind of player. paying over the odds like that just demonstrates a real lack of creativity, hopefully when moyes does decide to make a signing, it'll be better thought out than just chasing that summer's hot item.

We won,t offer 10 million for delph we have not got that kind of money.
