Sure is. Don't rate Delph either tbh, don't really see what he adds to the team. Cowardly passing and I can see why because his long range passing never reaches its target. Maybe its me, I was expecting a Barry type player and he is nowhere near his level.

Sounds like he missed training last Tuesday (after the Spurs match) trained on Wednesday and Thursday (before the Saints match) and pulled up again during Thursday session.

Doesn't sound like they've managed that injury very well.

Peter Reid was very injury prone. Sometimes you have to take a punt, and something the pay off more then other times.

I know, great player. Just didn't suit certain games due to his lack of pace but he was fantastic for us.

....class act and a top player but let’s not forget there was loads on here who didn’t rate Gareth Barry.

I think Delph is a decent squad acquisition, we certainly need numbers and he’s got sufficient quality and versatility to fill a number of positions. He seems a decent professional and plays like the game matters.

My only concern is around his physical resilience. Players who have a history of niggling injuries tend to be the same throughout their career. Other than that, he’s fine.

The purchase of Delph has been shown to be sensible. Peanuts in today's market and what would have been our two CMs - Gomes and Gbamin - out for long spells now.

Yes, he picks up knocks quite easily but he's played 7 of 12 premier league games so far this season. We'd have been even more screwed without him.

Everyone rated Barry in his first season, but he went downhill very very fast and became a complete liability who hindered our play massively.

The financial issue about Delph is his salary not the transfer fee.

Up till now I am disappointed; I thought he would be dominant but he tends to slow things down when the team
needs quick, forward passing. Injury prone too.

A definite maybe.
