Agree there. It’s the pinnacle. After Leicester winning the league with a first 11 including Wes Morgan, Huth, Albrighton and Simpson the league is totally devalued.

You could make a point for all the reasons you have mentioned, but some clubs just wanted out asap. Ipswich under McCarthy for example and numerous others with nothing else to play for would bail out at the first hurdle.

Not to me. I liked the European Cup, but now it's a runners up league with a poncy marketing name and razzmataz glued onto it. It's created a stagnant strata of teams and ruined competition. I have absolutely zero interest in it, and even if we were to qualify, i'd still pay very little interest.

League is more important - but even there I'm losing interest quickly. Top flight football has become a sham sport.

It only feels like it because we have an embarassing record and struggle to stay in it till February nevermind May.

I hate watching these later rounds after we've cocked it up for another year.

Lost its magic after 95, briefly came back in 2009 but it just turned out to be crap sleight of hand and misdirection.

I think the only thing that would turn the big boys heads back to the cup is if they had massive prize money, I also think the fact we have so many foreign owners and managers who don't see the same traditional values as us old guys.
Its probably quite sad that the younger supporters amongst us have never really experienced the full magic of the cup and furthermore maybe never will.
