FA CUP 5TH ROUND DRAW

City are 10/3 and you can get 6/1 best on us at Corals.

Best odds with High Street bookies:

City 7/2 Ladb, Arsenal 5/1 Bfred Chelsea 11/2 Hills (6s available), Everton 6/1 RS 15/2 (Power, 8/1 also available) - so you could put a bet on all 5 (hedging) to make a profit of 17% providing one of those 5 win the cup.

I am struggling with odds mathematics here. For a risk free arbitrage: if you have 5 teams you are betting on winning, would not the lowest odds required be 5:1??.

In the above scenario, if you bet $500 ($100/team to win) and City win, you collect $450 (350 plus your ante), and are down the gurgler $50.

...actually, anything greater than 4:1.

Do this bet, for example:

Manchester City £238 @ 7/2
Arsenal £178.50 @ 5/1
Chelsea £153 @ 6/1
Everton £153 @ 6/1
Liverpool £126 @ 15/2

Totaly outlay = £848.50, each scenario returns £1071, profit of £222.50

Manchester City v Chelsea
Sheffield Utd or Fulham v Nottingham Forest or Preston NE
Arsenal
v Liverpool
Brighton v Hull City
Cardiff v Wigan
Sheffield Wednesday v Charlton
Sunderland v Southampton
Everton
v Swansea

Best you can hope for is a home tie. Swansea are a very good cup team though and should not be underestimated.
Great to see the other 4 drawn against each other. The only thing that might work against Arsenal though is that it comes in the middle of a hectic schedule of fixtures against strong opposition.

They may prioritise elsewhere, but at least they are the home team.

This for me:

Manchester City v Chelsea
Sheffield Utd or Fulham v Nottingham Forest or Preston NE
Arsenal v Liverpool
Brighton v Hull City
Cardiff v Wigan
Sheffield Wednesday v Charlton
Sunderland v Southampton
Everton v Swansea

Reminds me of 1966. We have yet to concede a goal - in '66 we went all the way to the final before conceding two goals to Sheffield Wednesday. Anyone else here who watched the game?

My dad was there, he was saying yesterday he wanted them in the draw to bring back the memories.

I was 13 and watched it in a friend's house. He was a Wednesday fan! He lived a couple of miles from the Hendon Hall Hotel and we went there the morning of the game as we knew one of the teams always stayed there. Unfortunately for me it was the Weds team :(

Apparently the Everton team always stay at the Marriott in Bexleyheath when they play Charlton so I'm hoping - if it works out - we get them away in the next round as I now live a couple of miles away.

The way the draw has panned out, there could end up being four championship teams in the last eight, which is pretty unprecedented in this cup, i realise we had 3 championship teams in the semi finals about 7 years ago, but christ. If an opportunity has ever presented itself to us, well this it it.

Swansea will be a stern test, but at home we must set ourselves as favourites. We're an improved side to the one last season, but as long as we're focused, we'll do well. Obviously i won't be naive enough to get too carried away, after all two of City, Arsenal, Liverpool and Chelsea will be in the Quarter Finals, all it takes is City or Chelsea away for the cup draw to get a lot tougher.

Draw couldn't have panned out much better, aside getting a lower division side at home.

Big chance to go far, if we get through this and avoid the 2 "big" teams going through.
