F1 2025 (and other motorsports)

17 year old Brit Arvid Lindblad becomes the youngest winner/podium finisher in F2 history.
Sure I've mentioned it before, but my mum teaches him maths. Apparently he hasn't been for a lesson in ages. Can't imagine why! :D
He didn't really do anything particularly bad or dirty tbh, it's just the penalty should probably be to give the position back rather than 5 second time penalty.

Obviously he's going to moan about it, pretty standard.

It’s the rules that are wrong, his behaviour there is standard F1 stuff really.
Yeah, for once I'm actually kinda on his side. I think if he'd come out less far ahead/side by side they might have let it go. Maybe he was never going to make the corner, but Oscar was never going to let him, and in that situation I don't think it's fair to penalise a driver for being crowded out, especially in the first corner.

Looking forward to this, probably the most ruthless racing drive of all time. NASCAR gets a lot of stick but I actually quite enjoy it, people don't realise how hard it is to drive a total shitbox on the limit for 3-4 hours.

In F1 news the Ferrari livery for Miami is pretty awful

My son said exactly the same, wanting the increased sponsorship but heaven forbid they ditch the red for one race!
Not into these race specific liveries, stick with the colours for the season fgs

Looking at the lap times Norris was on track to win if he didn't pit. Got very luck with the Yellow.

He was considerably faster than Piastri prior to pitting though

Well that was eventful. Good call by Hamilton and Ferrari although it was kind of a no brainer given how much he was struggling on the inters.

Norris obviously lucky with the timing of the safety car but was quicker than Piastri before the pitting began and sometimes you get that bit of luck.

Feel really sorry for Kimi, he was a bit naive off the start but incredible reactions in the pit lane to avoid what could have been a horrible accident. That Red Bull pit guy was very lucky something horrific didn’t happen.

Also Piastri missing the chicane (possibly on purpose ?) is the only reason he didn't get passed before pitting, if he had taken chicane normally Norris would have had very good chance of overtaking with DRS on the following straight.

If it was intentional, then I tip my hat to him as it gave him a way better exit and gap to Norris. Clever driving.

Wasn’t that because of debris on the track from Sainz’ crash?

Good quali from Williams that. Hoping Piastri can launch off the line and get up to P3 to be in a position to undercut Norris later on.
