Perez such an average driver. F1 talent pool is so thin, it should be an entire field of Verstappen and Hamiltons but because only a tiny percentage of rich kids have a chance to participate you always end up with far too big a talent spread in the field.

Max would of win anyway. As much as I dont like red bull he got a perfect car and the team always get it spot on/lucky. Mercs best chance was with no safety cars and getting the 1 stop right.

The talking point and focus should entirely be on Tsunoda and Alpha Tauri. This needs looking at more closely.

Tsunoda complaining about his tyre, the team saying nothing wrong, they pitted and changed it anyway, then Tsunoda strolled out driving like he’s sight seeing at the lowest possible speed, his race over bringing out safety car.

Only one team benefits from that, Red Bull.

I’d even go as far as saying they used the seat belt nonsense in the pits to tell Tsunoda where to stop to bring it out the safety car. His race was already over before getting to the pits.

Ferrari are masters in screwing themselves up, same [Poor language removed] with Vettel. I do wonder how Schumi managed through all that incompetence, though he had Jean Todt and Ross Brawn by his side

The irrational part of my brain says it was dodgy but in reality it probably wasnt done on purpose and was just down to whatever incompetence came before it. Nothing like Abu Dhabi tbh.

Main reason for it being legit is that it’s not really the kind of situation where you would risk doing some shenanigans, max already has a comfortable lead in championship and was still probably favourite to win without the VSC.

Yes it was his home GP but I’d say it was just good fortune, of which he has had plenty this season relative to his competitors. Thats the way it goes when you are on top, Hamilton used to luck out on safety cars regularly during his peak.

It was definitely a fix. There is the radio message on twitter telling him to carry on through the pits and then stop in a safe place. Why not just stop at the end of the pits.

He then drove way under pit lane speed and joined the race driving as slow as possible.

Tsunoda stated an issue with one of his tires. The team said nothing was wrong, he pitted and they changed it anyway, then came the seat belt smoke screen whilst they figured out where he would stop to bring out the safety car.

The whole thing reeks imo

Verstappen is having one of those seasons where everything just falls into place for you. I reckon he'll go on to win by a record margin when you adjust for point systems/number of races etc since probably the era of Clark's "perfect" season.

I’m at Monza now… wow, the place is a shambles. So poorly organised, took us 3 hours to get in, nothing to do unless you have a paddock pass. You have to use stupid tokens to pay (they ran out of tokens half way through the day somehow) and card machines stopped working as WiFi was down. An appalling experience for fans and despite the great racing, the place is a relic and needs binning.
