Imagine having a historic venue for anything and, as a marketing-oriented company, being unable to spin that into a net positive...
It appears they’re unwilling to facilitate it because it doesn’t come with the panache (sorry, sponsorship money) the other races bring.

They’re not bothered about the quality of the racing, which Spa arguably brings, as much as how much they can squeeze out of all parties.

I understand that but surely there's a bit of a middle ground where they include it?

Vegas seems to be 50/50 by fans right now, judging by forums and all, but drivers seem excited for it and the straight will definitely be exciting and fast, but it shouldn't 'replace' a classic.

Again, to your first point - I can't believe a marketing department isn't spinning this into a massively historic event to attract customers and sponsors...

Then again, F1 merch is shockingly overpriced and out of touch so in a way.... lol

You’d hope so although most of the snippets I’ve read suggest that the lack of money (sponsors, attendees etc.) impacts on the race payment.

This is what Liberty are mostly bothered about, so regardless of how good the circuit may be it will need to stump up enough to dosh to grease the wheel.

The real people who should be helping to make the choices should be the drivers.

Well I still hope they are as vocal as they have been so far (or more) and basically unionise to keep it on.

Plus with the amount that they can rinse Vegas for - surely that'd balance the sheets for others...

Might place a bet on a Verstappen win from the back of the grid. Would not be surprised at all to see him do it with the new engine advantage, probs be a safety car at some point as well.

Merc were never going to be great here (same for Monza), only crumb of hope is they were dirt slow in France for most of weekend and then picked up tons of pace in the race.

One of the crappest quali sessions in memory, nothing of any interest happened

Embarrassing for Merc to be so far off, 1.8 seconds is pathetic.

Legit make Max the favourite despite him starting 19th or whatever it is

this race is done, verstappen will be in P1 with more than half the race left

spa is always rubbish without rain, last exciting race was 15 years ago lol
