If Sainz stays out in an effort to take the win I think he'll get overhauled by Hamilton as well as Verstappen. the tyres just can't do what they're asking

Best race pace we've seen from Merc all season.

Barcelona was better. Hamilton had same pace as the leaders for an entire stint.

As the commentators are saying, Bottas and Stroll have got to close to fifty laps on the tyres although it'll be different with Verstappen chasing him down.

Do they pit and settle for a position further down the final standings or go for first? I know what I'd do.

Well the racing isn't particularly exciting, so I guess the alternative has to be better. It's so strategical these days rather than down to pure race skill.

Sainz is a fairly 2nd rate driver imo. It's a shame that we're pinning our hopes on him to give us an exciting race

Sainz just needs to send one up the inside of Verstappen, but he just doesn't have it in him

Commentators keep going on about Verstappens older tyres but they are only 6 laps older on a compound that can go a lot longer than 16 laps before time falls off.

He's knocking at least a few hundredths off Max's lead each and every lap. He's got to get close soon though and not ruin his tyres.
