The sport became boring because up until this season Red Bull, Ferrari and McLaren haven't done a good enough job.... the other teams get a pass but those 3 teams not doing a good enough job are the reason the sport has been boring for the past few years. Blaming Merc for doing their job better than everyone else is a bit weird.

I don't blame Mercedes, but i appreciate that finally somebody challenged them, this season was more fun than last 10 seasons combined

Quite like both drivers, and I'm not that fussed with F1 in general, so I have no allegiances, but that ending was a complete farce.

Why, because i find Mercedes snooze fest they turned F1 into last 10 years super boring? Literally nobody cared for F1 past decade beside dedicated niche, this is first time since Schumacher that some passion returned to sport and a lot of people showed interest, yeah i like this, i like controversy, because its fricking fun

Would you have been accepting if, last season or the season before, the FA openly ignored the rules to facilitate a team winning the league, perhaps the RS?

Would the controversy be okay to make a spectacle? 'I know we said it's 11 vs 11,, but you know the rules don't need to be applied literally, do they?'

Terrible race directing. He had 3 Laps to let all the lapped cars unlap themselves and sat on his hands, then he panicked and broke the rules. It was totally unnecessary and has tainted Verstappen"s win

There is good reason why people liked Maradona so much despite being flawed character, people like controversy in sport, people like flashy characters prepared to do everything for win

Normally I’d be with you all the way in not wanting to see one team etc dominate a sport but would prefer to see my underdog win it the right way not as some charade scripted by some media company. Only got myself to blame investing my time and emotions as it was clear months ago it was ever to be so.

Not Hamilton, that was Mercedes call, I would have taken the stop. He comes out 6/7 seconds down with fresh tyres but in the end he would have probably passed Max by the SC and the same thing would have happened.

Yeah I get that it was Mercedes call, but I’m wondering if he could have held on with at least those slightly newer tyres. Or even right at the end pit with max and get softs as well.

This. Verstappen deserved to get something out of this year and had he driven a lights to flag victory, not many could begrudge him. The fact Max got handed 2 great opportunities in this race that Lewis valiantly rebuffed meant Hamilton deserved it more.

The 3rd slice of luck was an FIA fix, he should have had to come through the backmarkers to win, or it ended effectively under the SC. If Masi had done things quicker, RF so they start again with fresh tyres for 5 laps or enough time to do things properly and by the book with the restart, warding off any of this chat.

Yeah, okay, i did put some money on Verstappen though, so kinda little bit biased he, he, but as i said i really, really did enjoyed this season very much

But anyway i think this gonna end up at Court of Sporting Arbitration by whichever side lose now

I don't even want to see the result overturned, would be unbelievably harsh on Verstappen after all the celebrations etc and would increase the toxicity in the sport even further. It would be a horrible way to end a great season although id argue its already been a horrible end to the season.

This is utterly attrocious, and is exactly what nobody wanted.
I can't express how much I think Masi has brought the sport in disrepute. His name is a stain on soul of F1. He cannot be allowed to continue in any capacity.

They should be joint winners. I don't see any real other alternative that will appease either set of teams, fans or sponsors.
