Gaslys problem was he couldn't accept that Verstappen was simply quicker than him and thus tried too hard resulting in over driving etc. Rumour is Helmut still has the same concerns about him. It doesn't help that the Red Bull car is typically very on edge in order to suit Verstappens somewhat unique driving style, its not a car that most drivers on the grid would feel comfortable in.

Tsunoda should have been dropped next year and they should have had Gasly and Albon in the Alpha Tauris next year. They then should have had a shoot out for 2nd Red Bull seat. They would be told its not just points gained but ability to be a useful team mate to stop them holding each other up. The biggest problem Red Bull will always have is Verstappen has a unique style to his driving so his car has to be designed in a certain way. If that doesn't suit said team mate it will always be difficult.

Exactly right about the red bull set up.

They may aswel just enter 1 car as neither Gasly, Albon or Perez get close through Verstappen.

You could probably put Hamilton in that RB and he'd be 3/10th down.

It's daft really as they are putting all their eggs in one basket. Verstappen is good enough that if they just built a little bit more neutral friendly car he would still be up there but he would also have a team mate up there with him. This is a big chance for Verstappen and depending on how rule changes go might be his last for a while. I think looking at the set up of the remaining tracks he is now favourite because of the DNFs in Italy and then the rain getting him some extra points in Russia. Hamilton should have had a 15-20 point lead. I know earlier in the season tge breaks went with Hamilton so over the season either one of them will deserve it.
 
There is something about Red Bull that overly favours the #1 driver as the partnership progresses. It can't be a coincidence that the gap between Verstappen and the #2 has usually got wider as time progresses. This is completely at odds with what you would expect for a new driver as they get up to speed they should expect to be able to learn the car, copy setup etc and move closer to Verstappen, even if never being able to match him... but that is not what happens at Red Bull, as the #2 driver appears to get worse.
