Extra Public Transport for the 2nd Test Game

Operation Dynamo 2.0 - just like the Dunkirk evacuation in WW2 lots of little boats ferrying people across the Mersey. Come to think of it, there's a potential money spinner there for someone with access to a few 'water taxis'.

Nothing to do with foresight and everything to do with financial viability.
IIRC there where plans for one at the King's Dock Stadium all those years ago. If the Northern Docks are to be regenerated I think the financial cost would be worth it. The Woodside landing stage is a floating one. At one time it was the largest floating stage in the world. I'm sure Cammel Laird could build it and put it in place close to BMD

Heard there was going to be a canal boat from near the Liver Building . Probably quicker to walk though .

You can't really stop anywhere around BMD and get out, it's more of a pleasure cruise to see it up close

Collingwood Dock/or whichever one is run by the Watersports place is regularly just locked when they're not using it, and they're apparently not the friendliest

Surprised the ferry isn't using the Isle of Mann terminal, would cut out about 15 mins for people and allow them to run a longer service surely

Looks like 'the active travellers' have caught a break for the 2nd test event...

Isn't there public access at Stanley Dock ? I know I've walked on the towpath by the lock via some steps off Stanley Road

The ferries are barely if at all profitable and I don't envisage them throwing more money at another terminal that is only required 25-30 days a year as romantic as it sounds. The only target market here is those around Seacombe where there isn't a nearby rail station. People can just as easily drive to a merseyrail station and catch a train.
