Expectations for next season

We’ll only lose two games all season...

...in cup competitions (and they won’t be the finals). The league? I confidently predict we won’t win it. But seriously, let’s see who we bring in first eh? A couple of boss midfielders is my minimum hope.

Has anyone got any bingo cards to the ready?

Eyes down.

1. An away win at Chelsea
2. An away win at Arsenal
3. An away win at City
4. An away win at Utd
5. Any type of derby win
6. Not to think about relegation during the season
7. Get to a cup final
8. Finish the league in a Europa league spot
8. Finish ahead of teams like Sheffield Utd, Leicester, Wolves and Burnley in the League
9. Not want the manager sacked at somepoint during the season

Now I'm not asking to get all of these, a few would be good for starters as we've hit naff all for the last 3 years. And very few over the last decade.

My expectations have been tempered by years of false dawns. I have learned that to expect things other than disappointment will end in disappointment.
I hope we can rid ourselves of some of the dross we have accumulated over the past years and bring in a few players with a will to play for Everton and the sense not to be a dick.
That would be a good start.

I think getting rid of all the dead wood to start off with will be an achievement in itself. Needs to be a top half finish at least and a good cup run. A couple of real quality signings to build on also.

Impossible to say at this stage.

With the current squad, bottom half would be on the cards, but there'll surely be some quality added before the new season.

with the squad we have now I would say the expectation would be to finish in the top half. We need to sign at least 4 players and have them remain fit for us to finish higher than that, to really challenge, I think we would need 4 first team players in the summer and a further 2 or 3 in the January window to boost the squad. I think it will be so difficult for the manager to do any better than that.

Get rid of the dead wood and rebuild, nothing more than that can reasonably be expected of the manager. Top 10 if we are lucky.

Full of optimism, new signing or two including a known Prem Pro ready to relaunch his career.
3 games in 4 points and we get an injury to Richy, plus a few dodgy Ref decisions then start to sink back to mid table,
A positive spurt just after xmas into potential European place, but then get a few big 6 fixtures and sink back to 11th.
Season ends with strong view we can get rid of a bit of deadwood and let the youngsters have go

then repeat
