Go on, indulge us. Which was the better of the genius-touched sprawling, rather-self-indulgent and yet still amazingly ace double albums of the Ball-Kendall-Harvey era?

And WHY??

Answers on a postcard, please.

Rock on...

Arrrrghhhhhhh
I have to choose ?

Feck, err the White Album.
Why ?
Errrr, probably down to the fact that "While My Guitar ..." and "Julia" are two of my favourite Beatles songs.
Crap answer I know

Ive never listened to either and i only know 4 songs off the white album and none off exile on main street.

I do like plenty of Beatles and Stones songs though but strangely none off either album.

The White Album, but I haven't written an essay, somewhat disappointingly.

I've just always preferred the Beatles. That's all there is to it.

Probably because you've only listened to their popular songs. Well, by popular, I mean REALLY, REALLY popular songs.

Pretty much yeah.

I was just surprised that none of them are on those 2 albums as ive always heard of them being spoken of as classics so assumed theyd have more well known songs on.

Two amazing albums but would have to pick The White Album as I believe it to be the greatest album in ze world. It's completely bonkers yet incredible. The collection of songs really shouldn't work together as an album but they do. Therein lies the genius I suppose.

Just as a point, the White album contains "blackbird," a genuinely beautiful song by Paul McCartney which should be hurled in the face of anyone who claims he can't write a decent song.

My all time favorite Beatles song. And anyone who claims McCartney can't write a decent song is an absolute meff.
