Well, less than two weeks to go before the new season starts and this place has turned into the wastelands of Mad Max 2. Rage, fury have replaced the hope of a few weeks ago.

It was going to be a massive summer, world class players would be arriving but as time has gone by we have made excuses to why no arrivals.

"It's because we've no director of football" some people said!!! Well, we have one now.

" It's FFP lad " has been the most recent one. This has stopped us making a single signing according to some.

" The wages, we need to sell Stones first to balance the books " Yes people, some believe that we will risk getting any of our major targets until we sell a major player. Even though we can increase wages by 7 million per annum and have removed the wages of Howard, Pienear, Osman and Hibbert from the first team we still can't make a major signing.

So, what will the excuse be this week?? Or will we be honest??

We will sign someone today, or tomorrow.

Thursday is the 102 anniversary of the start of World War 1.

Buying players this week would be to stamp on a shedload of poppies and spitting in the faces of several Chelsea Pensioners.
