Howard Kendal could be a stroppy fella as well, met him about ten years back at an after dinner do, I waited till he had finished his scran and approached him just to say thanks for the memories, he was just down right rude, and with other people on the night,so thanks Howard you tosser.

my number one hate.
Met him and the team coming back from Chelsea on the train . when i was about 15, one horrible arrogant man, One of are directors Waterworth i think it was and Kenyon wernt very pleased with his attidude towards me after being asked to put his name on my program, which jim pearson was taking it around, not me, tried to make a big one of himself and failed, made a big scene of asking "what do you say if you want me to sign it", but it was his manner more than anything, like i was beneath him
I just said," i didnt ask you to put your name on anything and i dont want it anyway" Kenyon went to make him do it , but i just took it off the table and walked away, felt like crap, should have been a dream meeting all your heros but ruined by one of the worst players ever to pull on are shirt.
The director tried to make up for it by taking to meet the manager, while he had a word.
If it had been ten years later god knows how i would have acted, but i cant stand the sight of him.

...amazing, I suppose football is full of different types so it shouldn't be a surprise but they are in such a privileged position and should realise they are role models for young fans.

I never saw him play due to being too young, but after he retired he became a supply teacher and took a few PE lessons at our school. The sole positive outcome of the experience was for a couple of weeks afterwards I and most of our class thought we could probably all become professional footballers, because he was rubbish.

Not the actually story obviously but Heard that about him before actually and not surprised to see Jim Pearson coming out of it we'll always found him a gent .

For me McMahon without a doubt , honourable mention for Barmby but McMahon 1,2 & 3 for me .

Fair points about both Mikel and Moyes there mate. I feel exactly the way you do about the same points you raise.

With respect the point you raise about Mikel I hate cheats full stop. Regardless of whether they play for Everton, have played for Everton, or not at all. Used to hate Limpar for falling over too easy.

Totally agree with you about Moyes though. What made me feel bitter about that was he got a hero's send off and then the stories started to emerge. Speaking with people who work at the club it then turns out anecdotally he was unpopular with many club employees and I haven't heard one say they were sad to see him leave. So relating that back to the send off I buried my anger quickly because I realised that as a fan I only had a fraction of the full picture. So I suggest like many fans including me that Moyes began to believe in the PR cult of 'the Moyesiah' that was created around him by those running the club more than the reality deserved? Not a reason to hate him for believing in his hype?

I think DM is actually a mixture of self confidence in his ways of doing things and self doubt which makes him seem a bit insecure. I remember when he first came here he seemed genuinely appreciative of being made our manager and even said something along the lines of "a Davie Moyes does not often get a crack at a job like Everton" alluding to the fact that he had been strongly recommended for the job by Walter Smith if the reports are true. When he was going he even made comments about hoping he would be welcome back through the front door and not the back which seemed ludicrous given the send off he was getting. He must know he has done well overall as a manager and is highly thought of but the lack of trophies are a blot on his CV? Being strongly recommended by SAF was a blessing and curse which touched that insecure nerve too. Unlikely to have got the job without SAF's strong recommendation. But not only could players cast doubt on his CV they could also say you only got this job because of SAF. He needed time to slowly move on the players who could only function for SAF and gets his own ones in. His lack of a billy big boots persona in the media might have been handy in lots of situations for us (although it wore thin after a while here because it felt like he was selling us short) but it did not suit his circumstances there when he had to somehow protect SAF legacy but wanted to criticise the players that SAF had done so well with.
I also agree with your point about the hype. I think he is a clever guy who did pick up that his levels of appreciation were waning a bit and probably did feel at times "but look what I have done for you guys". That said, no manager can have it both ways. If you are extremely well paid for your job you have to deliver and keep on improving or achieve a bit more on a regular basis. His general tendency in the last few seasons to try to close games down rather than go full on for extra goals became a bit predictable to opposition managers so we would drop stupid points. That is a bit of a generalisation I know but I think you will know what I mean. That " we are Everton we can go for it against anyone" mentality was missing in too many big games in the last couple of seasons despite assembling a really promising team. He was unlucky also with injuries in 2009 cup run. Does not excuse 2012 semi though. Clearly thought the only way we could beat the RS was score early and hang on for grim death. Criminal.

Can't believe somebody said Alan Harper..... Shocking shout that !!

Once saw Mooncat walking through Huyton village the morning before a game in full EFC trackie. Looked impressive to me as an 11 year old.

In his later years he was crap but can't for the life of me see why anybody would dislike the fella. Immense for us 83-88

Honestly, You must have caught him on a rare bad day mate. I am fortunate to see Howard regularly and apart from being a true Everton legend he is genuinely one of the most humble and pleasant people to chat with. Recently he was amazed that anyone would put his face on a big banner that they are planning for the side of the main stand. We teased him a little that next it would be a bronze statue of him or the Holy Trinity. he replied that would be too much, he didn't deserve it and that Harry Catterick deserves far more credit than he ever got. So hopefully you'll meet him again one day and you'll remember him in a different light?

he was rubbish tsubaki, honest not just because of that instance, couldnt come out to catch a cross in an era when every keeper's was expected to, along with David Lawson who i think was a better keeper , (lacked confidence) the worst keeper i have seen in an Everton shirt. in fact between them the cost us the title that year , a decent keeper and we would have won it.
If i were to say to you Dickie Wright was at least twice as good it will give you an idea how bad he was,

You dont have to tell me that, I slotted past him and I am absolutely Osman.

Why hate Rooney ? I have never got it ! Everton needed the money just as much as Rooney needed to go and attempt to fulfill his potential winning leagues and cups on a annual basis. Yes he kissed the United badge - so what ? He done it to wind up every blue who gave him abuse, i laughed about it then and still do now. Joey Barton showed us his rear end to wind us up and guess what ? people are still fuming now - it worked.

More on Topic i would say i hate Royston Drenthe, i will never forgive the man for his behavious at such a crucial time. Hope he catches something from the bird he was with before the Semi Final the beaut.

O k mate, perhaps I met him on a bad day,but I have also met Bobby who I found to be a gentleman and very approachable , but there you go, aye.
suppose there only human , mate good and bad days ect and the drink can get them a bit moody as well, i knew one of the lads with him as well so that might have helped
