Player Valuation: £750k
Just lazing away a Sunday morning (watching the rerun) bleary eyed after sittin up til 4 am watchin the Blues.

Thinkin about players like Gosling, Anichebe, amongst others that have left Everton over the last few years and where they are, what and how they are doing now.

Any thoughts??

Its all down hill after leaving Everton for most Players.

Rooney, Lescott and Arteta are the only 3 I can think off during the Moyes-era who improved upon leaving us.

Yak too, I suppose...had a really good season with Blackburn.

For most ex-Everton players, their time at our club was the highlight of their career.

Francis Jeffers - no club wants him.
Michael Branch - in prison.
Nick Barmby - Who ? disappeared off the face of the planet.

Leave us and you will fail.....

Klordup, Simon Davies, Rooney and Brian McBride (well Brian played well for us so its debatable) got better when they left. Of the maybes Baxter and Vaughn?

Arteta is Arsenal's Joe Allen, spraying no risk passes to players who can actually do something. He's no where near the player he was in his pomp. Lescott isn't as bad as some think he is but not better.

I think over the past 10 years only ROoney, Lescott and Arteta have had a succesful move away from the club. I think the important thing is though, they moved to clubs above us rather than below. Lescott has only gone tits up because City have better defenders than him and Rooney in my honest opinion has been held back at United over the past few years. Rooney at 19 when he left looked like he was going to be a world beater, and after Ferguson's management he is a very good technical player instead. Aways thought he would be the type of kid who would be explosive and dangerous rather than the 'team player' he is now. His medal count however tells you it was succesful for him.

Noone else i can say has been successful in leaving for a better team. Everyone else has left to go below us in the league and Moyes should be given a lot of credit for that. It was such a shame we ended up selling our best to above us which held us back.

Agree with you there, rooneys a good player but hes not got to the levels we all saw he was capable of reaching, he became to much of a yes man under fergie, played all over the place for the sake of the team, still a boss player but not in the same level as the likes of messi, ronaldo, ibra.

Arteta, rooney, lescott have gone onto win trophies but i guerantee if you took money and glory out of it they would beg to play for us again, once everton touches you
