I was born on 23rd May 1987, So the first match after I was born was the start of the 87/88 season with a 1-0 win over Coventry in the Community Shield and 1-0 win over Norwich in the league.

Should have known.....

I was born between a 1-0 defeat to the ****e at Klanfield and a 2-1 defeat at home to Leeds!!!!!

Still at least we got better by the time I was 12 and I can actually remember seeing us win silverware, I still remember my school planner being covered with pictures from football magazines with Everton playes holding up trophies and awards for player of the year etc etc, my children where all born after 95 so they have never seen us lift a trophy :(

Also just to add, this thread makes me feel bloody old when some guys on here are born in the 90's!!!!!!!!!

Lol, yeah seems like everyone here was born 55-60, 77-84, or 91-93!! Didn't realise how many 'golden oldeis' there were on here!! :P :P

We beat Crystal Palace in the League Cup 3-2 on the 28/02/81, a few days before my birth

I remember it well.

Imre Varadi scored.

Lost against Watford FFS I also recall (not first hand) us losing 5nil to the Red****e too that season, oh and I think Brighton slapped us too. How things have changed in 30years, well I suppose.

Drew 2-2 at home to Blackburn 5th October 1965.
I also noticed we got bt at The ****e 5-0 the game before. :( Just about sums up all but half a dozen seasons of my life supporting Everton ! Wouldn't change for the world tho !

This is a good thread with many memories. Unfortunately, it makes me feel this old...

This reminds me of a couple of months ago when me and my mates were bored offshore and decided to find out "What our parents were listening to when we were concieved", and all looked up what was number one in the UK charts 9 months before we were born. I was mortified to find out that there was a distinct possibility that my dad was bashing my mum to the sound of the Village People's Y.M.C.A.

Oh, and BTW, with regards to the post, it was 0-0 at home to Man U in October 1979!
