Evertonians In USA

Yeah, we are definitely on more and more these days. I have a hard time watching taped-delayed games though, of any kind, so I just get up early and watch. Getting up at 7am to watch the noon games sucks, but I'm obsessed to it's just what I do. I think I just got used to watching Everton on the tiny sopcast screen back in the day, so other than going to the occasional live match, it's feels like tradition to watch online for me at this point.

The 7 am game I will watch live. But the usual 10 am (or later) game I will watch on DVR as its hard to sit and watch a game with kids and life to attend to. In any event, when FSC and the like are not airing it until 8 pm on tape, than the decision is made. Like you said, a person forms habits and that becomes normal. Watching us win a huge match 6 hours after it actually happened, while not knowing the result, is just my normal. Its as if I am watching it live. What helps is I don't have 15 dudes talking about it when I pick up some food or something midday. Just need to stay away from the ESPN scroll and the increasing number of sandwich shops and the like that play FSC on their in house tv.

I admire any Evertonian who has not been to Goodison or probably even England, so many other yanks interested in the EPL go out and support whoever is winning things at that time but those USA Toffee's make me proud. Being an Evertonian is hard work as we all know so for a yank to go the pub/bar with their Everton shirt/jersey on and have to take stick from utd, lpool, chelsea 'fans' and not get tired off that **** i feel is a worthy Evertonian, as others have said get involved lads and learn the scouse language!

Nearly all fans of other teams love that I am an Everton fan. They all view Everton as a big club, just cash poor. In short, they respect me for being a fan of a proper club. This might be atypical, as American fans of Premiership clubs are somewhat removed from the intense rivalries that exist over there. They view Everton as just a poorer Man United or Arsenal, as opposed to just a tradition rich West Brom. Again, maybe this is just the stupid way Yanks view it.

Same for me. I have Fox Soccer, but mostly watch crappy video streams since I want to see it as it's going on. I'm so used to waking up at 640, check if the game's on, then make coffee and drink it out of my Everton mug, that's just my routine now. Most pubs that show the games here in St. Louis aren't even open that early. I do get jealous when I have 35 high quality streams for all the ManU games.

Thanks. I'm glad we can do that for you. COYB!

Cheers for that. I get so much **** from all my friends who are ManUTD, Chelsea or City "fans". It feels even better when i know I'm a blue and that I didn't have a choice in the matter. Meeting another Blue over here is an instant friendship. Its great.

Made my first trek over to England this past spring. Didn't get up to Goodison unfortunately, but made it to Wembley for a cracking day out with some mates who made the jump over the pond as well. Wouldn't trade it for anything in the world.

That's pretty much my typical Saturday as well. I actually won't go out Friday or at least go home early when there's a noon game the next day just so I don't oversleep - not sure if that's commitment or just pathetic. Terrible feeling getting up at that early to find no Everton streams going while there are 50 streams of united/city/****e streams playing somebody ****, but I suppose that's our curse.

The lurkers are from the USA. Post you mad bastards. Post ffs.

This is so true, I lurked for like 3 months before I signed up and started posting. I've learned a shedload about Everton since then and am as knowledgable as any fan with a scouse accent (a close relative to my new englander drawl) could be.

Alabama, USA here lads.

Terrific, azul. Welcome to the home of me mar.

Can you pick up a six pack of Buffalo Rock and a bottle of Dale's while you are there, please?

Oh, and this - Roll Tide or War Eagle? You must decide correctly or you end up in h-e-double hockey sticks.

(hint - what color is that Tide again?)

location? see above next to Location:

Glad to see more Toffees than I'd hoped to find in Georgia. So near, and yet, so far.

Me arl man was from Georgia, and I will drive there for good Barbecue. (Southern Soul in St. Simons - get the burnt end on bun, a religious experience)
