Everton Youth Teams Thread

I was the opposite, I thought he did really well, was winning all the headers that came at him in the middle of the pitch , looked composed enough on the ground and was comfortable hitting long balls from the back. We’ve rarely started a 15 year schoolboy as a centre back before Christmas so I give him more leeway than you and it was thrust upon him in a way due to injuries. He can tackle and he’s very tall, looks about 6:2 / 6. :3 ish already so I think he’ll remain as a CB and hopefully put some bulk into his frame . We know he’s been offered a Scholarship, no real surprise there, and there are obvious flaws in his game particularly around the goals scored but I was impressed with him.

He missed about 50% of his headers cmon! Jumped for them earlier than DCL used to 😂

Eh ? Maybe we were seeing different things, my recollection is that when they pumped the ball forward to their striker he was the one marking that space and won just about every header.

Nah I definitely saw him mistime a lot of headers. That was why I whinged after the first few minutes. Good on the ball, risky at times, that’s why I think more midfielder than defender.

Ok. At 15 a long way to go, so far I only see him as a defender , physicality/ body build will play a big part . I can’t think of any youngsters his height moving up into midfield, and Onyango trying to do the reverse of mid to defence has never worked out .

….searched but still haven’t seen the goals from Youth Cup win, appreciate if somebody can oblige.
I’ve seen two of Everton’s goals Eggs on different websites, both well, worth watching but not the first. The Everton website is worse now than before since it was taken over by new owners. I’ll be going to the next round game v WHU if it is at Goodison to make sure I see these young lads and judge how good they are.
