The quest for us to develop a keeper from the youth ranks to the first team continues

Always the hardest position for a young player I feel

We've got defenders and midfielders out the wazoo, but a striker and keeper seem to keep alluding us

It's the one position where I'll forgive the club if we never develop someone, because it's so hard to bring one through when you're a team chasing Trophies and Europe. The chances you have to blood them are finite

It helped Pickford being at Sunderland, because they were out of options so it was trial by fire

In defence, midfield and attack you can ease players in and they can lean on more experienced players. You can't do that as a keeper. You're on your own

I'll keep a look out for him though

I was told by good mate who heard it from some academy staff he knows well. My immediate reaction was we wouldn't sack him, which is why I asked if anybody else had heard anything.

Norwegian 16-year-old Einar Hjellestad Iversen is said to have signed terms with our academy. He has played three times for Norway U16s and has been a regular for Stord Fotball's senior team this season (level 4).
