To be fair he picks the ball up and the only player ahead of him is Rom and he's usually surrounded by defenders. Booby brown shoes doesn't appear to encourage off the ball movement.
Dowell reminds me of Pienaar. He knows when to do those little flicks and tricks and when to release the pass
In some ways Dowell's injury back in August may turn out to be a blessing in disguise. He said when he came back that he'd work on developing himself physically , not going to be Ross size but it will have helped him a wee bit. At 18 his path was likely a League 2 club or wherever. We know we've got another diamond on our hands , it will please me immensely if he makes the first team this season , but if not at least we have something to look forward to for next.
