Take a look at tonight's under-21 opponents Everton.
After slipping up on Monday against Leicester City, Sunderland under-21s will be looking to get back to winning ways when they face an Everton side in very good form of late, winning the last three and unbeaten in seven Barclays U21 Premier League matches.
The loss to Leicester City opened the door for Manchester United to regain top spot and they did just that with a 2-1 win away at Middlesbrough, which saw them move two points clear with a game in hand.
After beating Southampton and both Manchester sides, Everton have the chance on Monday night close the gap on third place with a victory.
And ahead of the match on Monday evening, safc.com has taken a look at what to look out for from The Toffees…
The season so far...
The Toffees travel to the Stadium of Light in great spirits after an impressive 3-1 victory over Southampton last time out.
Sat in 4th place with 23 points, Everton have overcome a tough start to hit top form in the last couple of months, having not won in their first five league matches.
When the two sides met earlier in the season, it was a 1-1 draw at Goodison Park, with the Sunderland goal coming from Duncan Watmore.
Head Coach: David Unsworth
A real Everton man, David Unsworth made over 300 appearances for The Toffees in two spells at the club across 12 years, with a short move to West Ham United in between.
Unsworth scored 34 times in the Premier League for the Merseyside club, and was well known as a dead ball expert, especially from the penalty spot, despite being a defender.
Following his move from Goodison Park, he had spells at Portsmouth and Ipswich, before having two seasons at Sheffield United.
After short spells at Wigan, Burnley and Huddersfield he would retire with one England cap to his name, which came in 1995.
He would join Preston North End as a first-team coach and move to Sheffield United again as Head of Academy, before returning to his boyhood club as under-21 head coach.
One to watch: Brendan Galloway
The 19-year-old left back has impressed at under-21 and first-team level this season, as well as earning an international call-up at under 19 level.
He made his first-team debut at the end of last season featuring in games against West Ham United and Tottenham Hotspur, and would earn Everton’s under-21 Player of the Season award.
After starting the season in the first team due to Leighton Baines’ injury, Galloway has appeared 15 times for the side, as well as helping the under-21s in the Barclays U21 Premier League.
