Everton Youth Teams Thread

I thought it was only once v Sunderland in the cup when he was there to make the subs. bench up— they might have only named 8 subs for that game, has he been on the subs bench for an away game where he is travelling and enjoying being part of the squad?
I think the manager nobody wanted played about 4 or 5 young lads starting or coming off the bench in the 1-1 at Chelsea two or three years ago.

Yep, away to Forest.

Yep there and back on the same day, mind you he might have got on the pitch before the game and the half time kick about, big deal, Dobbin played in that game at Chelsea, I wouldn’t mind betting he was about the same size, weight and age as Braiden is now.

So you want to see him on the bench, I've just proven he was on the bench, now it doesn't count because the away game wasn't far enough??? ffs

….worth noting that often youngsters travel with the squad and don’t make the match day squad. From clips, Graham trains daily with the first team, he might well have experienced plenty of first team trips/match days.

I think some home games involve overnight stay and most away.

I knew he’d been on the bench, you told me about the second game, I haven’t said the second game didn’t count—- we’ve played about 40 games this season and an outstanding young player has been on the bench twice— ffs!

….often the best attackers at youth level are outstanding because of their physicality, they’re bigger, stronger and faster than their peers. The fact that Graham is about 10st dripping wet tells you his game is based on quality, attitude and football instinct. He was playing men’s football in Ireland at 15yo but the step up to PL is massive.
Has to be better than Barry though .... :D

….Moyes has given debuts to more ‘kids’ in our PL history than any other manager, I think 3 of the youngest ever PL goalscorers all played for Moyes.

I’d be more inclined to hope he knows exactly what he’s doing with Graham as his record compared to Iraola clearly shows. He looked annoyed when Graham was mentioned at yesterday’s conference, suspect he doesn’t want any focus on him at this stage. Not sure there’s many examples of youngsters we’ve let go who’ve come back to haunt us.

Kroupi will soon be 20, Graham was only 18 in November.

Worth also considering Graham in respect of NI, a country not flush with talent. He’s yet to even get a call up for their U21s, never mind their full squad. Perhaps he’s just being managed by club and country, maybe they talk to each other and are joined-up in their approach.
Dithering Dave if they were debuts they would be on the wing out of position .....
