Everton Youth Teams Thread

I have only just got back from the match and still can't quite believe that score, certainly the highest scoring match I have ever attended. Our attackers were excellent and punished Ipswich's mistakes with individual brilliance, especially from Callum Bates who scored a fantastic goal which I knew was going in as soon as the ball left his boot. It has been fun watching the u21s this season, that's for sure.
I saw Everton win by the same score 8-4 v Plymouth in our 1954 promotion season with 4 goals from John Willie Parker, 2 from Dashing Dave Hickson 1 goal from Cyril Lello and a penalty from Jock Lindsay, we scored 20 goals from 3 games around the same period- 6 v Brentford and Derby County.

He's a tad bigger than Michael Owen and still growing.
Owen didnt do too badly , he was 17 1/2 yrs old on his debut for Liverpool.
Remember watching Michael Owen for the England Schoolboys when they showed the matches on Sky, he was a standout from that age.

Pace, movement and finishing were excellent and was easily good enough to be playing for them at 17, I think people have forgotten how good he was before his injuries.

Whilst Graham is good, he doesn’t have the pace that Owen had and not on his level at that age.

Possibly not as we are talking a World class talent in Owen.
But theres only one way to find out .

He's played at Senior level aged 15 in Ireland and looks like he's stepping through the levels here now.
Theres many examples throughout the years and most recently the likes of Mateus Mane for Wolves.
I'm totally against sending the lad out on loan , he'll be in and around the first team here soon enough at this rate imo.

Yes Michael Owen was a top class talent from an early age but those continual ham string injuries took him down a level but still a very good player.

….not forgetting the attitude to go with his quality, Owen’s a tough lad and was never intimidated regardless of his size. That’s partly why I find it encouraging that Graham played men’s football at 15yo.

Very interesting as Morais-Myers and Haile are two of the lads I figured would have been in Greece with the U16 team this week.

Morais-Myers is a big left footed lad is who I believe is a CB.

Haile is an inside forward type. Decent finisher, not tall but not diminutive.

Both would be U15s this year so great experience for them.
