Everton Youth Teams Thread

Rb aint he you still think far away from the first team also good hear the new lad looked ok is an area would be great see somebody step up in
Yeah, there's plenty ahead of him at RB just now (in numbers if debatable in quality) so there's no need to rush his development, but he's a talent and only just turned 19. The other one who catches the eye a bit is Metcalfe, can see why he's been around the firsts.

Metcalfe look an interesting, would have been nice to see him get a few minutes for the first team

….really good time to be a RB coming through at Everton. Coleman and Young are both fragile and at the end of their careers & Patterson is clearly not rated good enough to start games over those two. 19 is old enough to break through for the start of next season if good enough.

Your right there,
I am hoping it's the reverse of having teams at the top and nobody breaking through and we may get one or two out of the crop.
Well when we bought Holgate and Martinez made his “ we have a Golden Generation” quote we went on to have 5 in that England u20 ( ?) squad that won their Euro ( ? ) final , plus Davies captaining the u19s . We only have DCL left now. Maybe the Branthwaite, Chermiti, Boakye route becomes our main source until we regroup as a club.

Last time I looked , a week or so ago, both u18 and u21 s were 3rd from bottom , still the poorest crop at both levels for some years. It’s hard to find much to cheer about ☹️
I know I go on a bit about the coaching at the Academy but I really don’t think they help the players, they never seem to have any set plans, and a lot of the time it’s just hoof ball with hardly any of the players putting their foot on the ball and having a look around for options to pass to.
