I watched Linfield in a cup game about a year ago , champions of NI , not a great standard first team wise but they seem to attract top quality youngsters. I know they lost a couple of highly rated youngsters to Villa last season, it’ll be interesting to see who we get and his age .

Full time set up now for teams at top like linfield and it's definitely a better level of football. There are good young players in the full time set ups if you can find them. They just let a player go to West ham and one to Leeds as well as far as I know. The West ham kid is already a full international.

Unfortunately its becoming a two tier league where the 7 or 8 part time teams can't compete!

West ham got themselves a good one from linfield too, Marshall who made his international debut few months back. Scored in the fa youth cup final and scored for their u21s tonight

They also got Moore from Cliftonville. We were interested, scout recommendation was not to sign as we had better in the academy already, more senior scout flew in for a 2nd opinion because of the hype and we took it no further.

Noticed that both our u23/21 & u18 squads have been looking a bit younger this season. Probably a deliberate strategy from the club to have a bunch of players pushed up a level to gain a bit more experience, particularly with a number of young players currently out on loan.

Yes and one started. Only a couple that aren't first year scholars in the 11. Looks like we are going early and aggressive to retain the U16s that have won national cups together. Not sure it will make the team competitive but at least its a different approach

Going off the fact he's now a U16, I'm assuming he was a part of that Manchester super team that did the rounds?
