How good Rooney was is he was an u16 player carrying a group of u17s and u18s. I remember watching that final and he was so far ahead of every other player, the Moore brothers were also decent but clearly nowhere near as good. Schumacher, Symes and Carney had decent careers lower down the league but it just goes to show how hard it is to make it as a footballer and even tougher at a top club.
